Hodson Bay Celtic 0 Birr Town FC 5 - October 1st
On Saturday morning Birr travelled to Hodson Bay for a league match and came away with 3 points following a 5 nil win. The game was played in wet conditions but the weather didn't seem to bother Birr as they dominated the first quarter and went ahead on 12 minutes through the excellent Cliona Boyd who forced home the ball from close range. Alannah Eades Lynch added a second soon after following some good work from Eabha O'Meara. The home side came into the game more as half time approached but the Birr defence held firm to leave it 2 nil at half-time. Birr started the 2nd half like the 1st and extended the lead through Roisìn Brewer who scored a second half hat trick. Her third goal came in the closing stages after a long run and assist from today's captain Ella McIntyre. While Roisìn was the referee's player of the match credit must go to all the girls who each contributed to the overall team performance. Well done girls
